Zine #01: ABOVE THE BAR || Pre-Order

£30.00

A fascinating process occurs when ocean meets land. While our own senses are immediately occupied by the waves that we see smell and hear, there are a number of processes that are active below the surface of the water whose impact can be witnessed from above.

Nearshore sandbars are non-static build ups of sand and sediment in the littoral zone of oceans, seas and lakes, formed by the dynamic interaction between water and the physical shape of the coastline. Their presence causes waves to break away from the shoreline and reduce the impact of the wave at the shore. The transient nature is one key reason why no wave is ever the same and every seascape photograph is unique in its own right.

This premium photographic zine seeks to study the relationship between land and sea, visually exploring the beauty of the interaction and characteristics of the sea above the bar, in a variety of conditions.
