WORKSHOP OVERVIEW:

A 3 night Landscape Photography Workshop in the Landscape Photographer’s paradise that is Glencoe and its surrounding areas. In November, we will be shooting at a time when the bracken has turned a beautiful warm brown and the mountains may just be starting to get their first proper dusting of snow (weather pending of course!)

We will travel to the Glencoe area on Friday, with the aim of arriving with plenty of time to spare to enjoy the afternoon/evening; but we may stop at a couple of spots on our way up! On Saturday and Sunday, we will explore a variety of spots, before making our way back to the North East on Monday afternoon.

I will be on hand to provide as much or as little tuition as you need for the duration of the trip.

ACCOMODATION/SUSTENANCE:

We will be staying in a local guest house in close proximity to stunning surroundings, where you will have your own room, with breakfast provided. You are required to provide provisions for your own sustenance for the duration of the trip

TRAVEL

You can either hitch a ride up with me from the North East of England, or I would be more than happy for you to make your own way to Fort William Station, where we can arrange for you to be picked up. We will be hopping in my car from spot to spot, where possible/appropriate.

KIT/REQUIREMENTS:

Photographers of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join, but you are required to bring your own camera equipment.

Minimum recommended kit:

  • DSLR/Mirrorless camera and lenses (I would recommend lenses from 14mm to 200mm),

  • Tripod,

  • Photographic filters

PERKS:

I am very stringent in the brands that I choose to be affiliated with, only trusting premium brands and products that I would choose to purchase myself. With that in mind, I am delighted to offer the following to workshop participants:

FORMATT HITECH FILTERS

Formatt Hitech offer a range of best in class photographic and cinema filters, with a particular highlight being their Firecrest Ultra range. One of the perks of being an ambassador for Formatt Hitech is that I can offer discount on their products to fellow photographers. Save 10% on your next purchase at https://www.formatt-hitech.com using the code FORTUNE10 at checkout*.

If you have access to your own filters, that’s great! You can of course use your own filters while we work. However, if you want to try out a few new options, then they are there waiting for you!

F-STOP GEAR

f-stop’s backpacks and accessories are the perfect companion for any serious visual storyteller. Their products are incredibly well designed, offering some of the best in class quality and functionality that is currently available. My personal recommendation is the f-stop Tilopa 50L DuraDiamond Backpack.

As an Ambassador for f-stop, workshop and tutorial participants get access to 25% discount on f-stop’s excellent range of products alongside $20 credit to spend on their website.

You can check out f-stop’s gear at https://fstopgear.com

VALLERRET PHOTOGRAPHY GLOVES

Vallerret are a premium photography glove and softgoods company hailing from Norway. Their gloves are built and designed to make photographer’s lives easier while wearing gloves. I’m delighted to have recently partnered with them, bringing new perks to my workshop participants! Best of all, 1% of their sales go to environmental non-profits!

BOOKING/PAYMENT:

To book your place, simply pay your deposit via the “book now” button below. Once paid, your space on the trip is secured. I will contact you from there so that we can have a chat and discuss the trip together and you will be provided with a link to pay the final balance. The balance must be paid no less than one month before the trip. I will contact you from there so that we can have a chat and discuss the trip together.

We have a variety of different payment options available. You can either pay a non-refundable deposit in the first instance and then pay the balance before the trip, or even make split payments over an agreed term, or you can pay in full.

PLEASE NOTE:

You are required to provide proof of insurance before the first date of the workshop. No insurance means that you will not be able to join me on the workshop.

Some elements of this workshop will require a short hike across difficult terrain, so a degree of fitness/competency in hiking is required. Should you have specific requirements that must be considered, it is important for you to declare them in advance.

We will travel to some spots on foot. Some of the terrain can be rough or slippery underfoot, so it is crucial that you wear appropriate footwear.

You will need to pack appropriate clothing, footwear and protection for your camera, as we will be shooting whatever the weather! I would strongly recommend packing your waterproofs, just in case! We will be shooting the stunning mountains, lochs, waterfalls, castles across our time in the area, so brace yourselves for uncompromising beauty that shines whatever the weather.

Please be aware that your deposit is non-refundable, but if you have to pull out of the trip for whatever reason, please do let me know and we can discuss options together.

If you plan on paying the balance of the trip via a payment plan, please get in touch so that we can discuss your options. Please note that I am not a lender, and I extend the option of split payments via my own good will. You are required to make payments as per our agreement and I reserve the right to revoke your space on the trip if you have not paid the balance no less than one month before the trip departure date. Should this occur, you will be refunded your previous payments, excluding your non-refundable deposit.

If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to drop me a line at james@jameswfortune.co.uk
